As summer turns to fall, we issue a warm and enthusiastic welcome to our BRPC members, and especially guests, from the Worship Committee! And a special shout out to our three newest members, Linda and Hoot Mann and Theodora Shelton, who officially became part of the Blue Ridge Presbyterian family on Aug. 28. The Manns had been involved with BRPC for some time, since Linda is our talented, dedicated organist. Hoot is a qualified and versatile musician in his own right, joining in the worship services on several instruments.

And worship is at the heart of our fellowship at Blue Ridge Presbyterian Church, on the western outskirts of Raytown, Missouri. We’re just minutes south of the Truman Sports Complex, so you know we’re minutes from I-435 and I-70. Our membership comes from a wide cross-section of the Kansas City Metro area. As Presbyterians, we appreciate worship rooted in scripture. We value the participation of the laity in worship (including youth) and celebrate the Lord's Supper the first Sunday of each month. Our mission statement says we "gather as a community to worship God with reverence, warmth and joy." Not to mention enthusiasm and great music!

And as a congregation, we believe we are privileged to enjoy the richest sermons anywhere by the Rev. Pat Jackson. They are deep in text and meaning, often touched with humor, accompanied by illustrations, slides and pictures on our sanctuary big screen. If you have not heard Reverend Pat, come see if you don’t agree he provides sermons that are akin to a great conversation, and one to be savored. In September through most of November, he is presenting a fascinating series on “Encounters with Jesus.” Just consider all the interactions that our Lord had across the four gospels. How did those affect the mission of Christ – and eventually, our lives?

September also means the return of our Chancel Choir, directed by Grace Cox-Johnson, and our delightful Chancel Chimes bell choir, directed by Linda Mann. Come early for youth and adult Sunday school. Stay for coffee fellowship. Look elsewhere on this site for a complete listing of BRPC activities.
